Intersection explores the idea that multiple truths can exist at once, often even overlapping and converging — just as love and grief, or pain and healing, coexist within us. These seemingly opposing experiences, though distinct, intertwine over time, weaving together into a new and complex whole.
This body of work explores the artist’s personal experiences with loss, motherhood, mental health, home, healing and femininity through this lens. Here the artist considers how the difficult, chaotic, and nuanced aspects of human life might intersect with the natural world, at times suggesting alternate realities, drawing on the genres of femme surrealism and contemporary figurative abstraction. These concepts have been explored in this body of work using collage, cyanotype and painting.
This artwork was installed at Quills Coffee in Louisville, Kentucky from May 2024 - April 2025.
